My friends and I are trying to plan our senior trip to Socal
We are going to fly down there so we will not have a car available
The trip to the hotel (Days Inn or perhaps other options) near Disney doesn’t seem like a big problem, however, we are trying to figure out a way to get to universal studios in the morning and be back at the hotel by night
what are some good suggestions???

Universal Studios offers a shuttle. You might also consider a Southern California CityPass, and get discounted Disneyland and Universal Studios tickets.

What hotel do you recommend to stay in near the Universal Studios theme park?

I’m trying to get a price range for beginners lessons and the web site is pretty useless. Can anyone help me?

I called them once to find out about Charleston lessons. They said that they didn’t have any instructors that knew the Charleston, but they would learn it and teach me.

I pressed hard to get a price. Eventually they said around $2,000.

I gave up on Charleston. Until years later when I found a swing group that taught it. $60 for a class of six lessons. Another $60 for advanced lessons.

So I signed up and can now Charleston. I’m not ready to compete and never will be, but I can do it on the dance floor and enjoy myself.

I don’t like ridin the bus and would prefer to take the metro down there? Can ne1 tell me what time they run and if it is possible? As much info as possible would be appreciated not just links.

Sorry hon, the only sensible answer IS the bus. The good news is it’s not too far, it is a straight shot and should not take to long…..

Your instructor may give you the checksheet, but if you’re looking for the breakdown book, they guard those things closely. The chain studios aren’t open like DVIDA. The checksheet lists the names of the figures, but they tend not to be very revealing. For instance, one of the bronze tango figures is named La Cumparsita, which is the title of an old tango standard bit of music, but tells you nothing about the figure. I’d suggest you keep a journal and write them down as you learn them. When I was a FADS student, I thought I’d never forget the syllabus, but after a few years away from Fred, I can’t remember half.

There is a big group going to Orlando 6 adults and 2 children and we are trying find the cheapest way to get tickets for such a large group. We have rented a beach house in Coco Beach so we will have two vacations Beach/Disney.

Disney never offer discounts & with the world of Harry Potter opening this month at Universal, expect no discounts from them either. Unless you qualify for the Florida Resident Special, the best you can do is the members discount & get them at Triple AAA.

Free tickets are non-existent unless you happen to win them. If you purchase multi-day tickets online from the Universal Studios website you get $10.00 off gate price. That’s about as good as you’ll be able to get. You should be wary of websites and locations offering deeply discounted tickets because there are a lot of scams out there.

craigslist.com has people selling them for cheap…..check it out
at universal they are all pretty expensive but it is well worth it!
