Often referred to as "The People’s Republic of Santa Monica," they manage their homeless population in unique ways. Meanwhile, they do have their touristy-type draws. The Newport Beach Fashion Island is also very interesting (it’s where we first found the "Restoration Hardware" shop.) It’s a walk, but it’s colorful. Speaking of walk, don’t walk the beach bike path, but buy, rent, or borrow bikes and do bike this path. You’ll find walkers and skaters on it, but not too many since they know it is a bike only path. You can visit multiple California beaches in one day. Speaking of beaches, my sister is a big fan of kayaking, and one can also rent kayaks and paddle around various sites (I’ve not the upper body strength for that sort of thing, but my daughters enjoy going on these jaunts.) This Saturday, they’ll be at Alamitos Bay at 10:00 a.m. Other beaches are available, and one kayak route (I’m told) even has a paddle-up Starbucks. No word on where one takes the bladder afterwards, tho. Up here in Claremont (eastern edge of L.A. County), in the north end of the city, we have our own "Wilderness Trail" which really does loop thru the foothills. While it’s not as much "wilderness" as one might think (given all the folks on it in the morning), it does have wildlife (that come down to visit at night and dine with us) and connects to a veer off trail that goes to the top of Potato Mountain (they really named it that.) You left Knott’s Berry Farm out of the Theme Park list, and that’s my personal favorite (I like the up and down rides, mainly). Instead of a Dodger’s Game, I recommend driving a bit farther to Rancho Cucamonga and seeing a Quakes game. It’s A level baseball and they put on more of a show as a result. And home runs there are a hoot. Save the Universal Studios until Halloween; then you get more than your money’s worth. Also within reach are the Getty Museum, which is pay-for parking and free admission (!) Really. And they let folks bring their picnic lunches (but the food they sell there is pretty good, too). A site that is also cool but does not let one bring food in is the Arboretum in Arcadia: be prepared to walk, tho you’ll recognize the lake and house from a zillion TV shows.

The Getty (art museum), Warner Brothers Studio Tour, TV show tapings (tickets are free and you can find them online), melrose ave for shopping, Hollywood/Highland, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Griffith Park Observatory

To be honest, you have mentioned pretty much everything there is around that area because all there is are theme parks and places to spend lodes of money…

disneyland is in Orange County.

There is an urban Jungle in Compton near long beach.
Movie studio in hollywood
Beverly hills mansions
The beaches have models with big boobs as life gaurds
go to valencia for six flags
Dodgers games are good, make sure to wear red
if you are lucky you will see a cop beat somone
and if you are really lucky you can be in a earthquake

No you do not. It's free, because it's before the entrance to the parks.

The City Walk is free because it is before the entrance to the 2 parks (Universal Studios and Adventure Island). It is better to stroll down and see the city walk @ night because of the lights. They have live entertainment, music, restaurants, bars, and clubs that are open even after the 2 parks are closed.
Unless, someone can drop you off to avoid the parking fees, you would have to purchase parking. $14.00 if you park for the whole day. $3.00 if you park between 6pm-10pm. After 10pm it’s free.

No, you don’t have to have any type of ticket to get into CityWalk; admission to this area is totally free. You will, however, have to pay to park in the Universal parking garage if you are driving yourself there. Regular parking is $14.00; between the hours of 6:00PM and 10:00PM parking is $3.00.

Actually, you don't! I was just there at the end of May. Its pretty big too. Lots of restaurants and live bands. There wasn't much going on at 9 am but by 4pm it was getting busier.

It is most definitely at Downtown Disney.

My friend and I hung out in front of it for a while, and perused the gift shops.

So, yeah, it’s there.
