Disney is soooo much better than Universal! The rides and most of the attractions are pretty b class while Disney always delivers. Both will be crowded this time of year. ?California adventure is great too. I prefer it over Disneyland.

Best of Luck to You!

I assume you mean DisneyLAND, not Disney World.

You'll get lots of opinions on this subject. Bottom line will be what you prefer: The Disney fantasy or the whole "Hollywood" scene.

Disneyland does have 1 day passes.

Only a small section of the studio had a fire. They still do the tour. The majority of attractions are still operating. Only 2 sets were damaged, but they had a lot of history.
References :
If it's just adults I recommend Universal Studios. The main part of the park was not affected by the fire. Parts of the backlot were lost, so the backlot tour will never be the same as before.

If you have small children I recommend Disneyland. There's not many attractions for small children at Universal Studios. If you can find a friend in So Cal I believe tix for residents may be cheaper. Depends on when they're having that promotion.
References :
Personal experience.

It's actually Disneyland in Los Angeles (actually Anaheim in Orange County), not Disney World.

And I vote for Disneyland ALL THE WAY.

The part of Universal Studios that got burnt down isn't major and doesn't affect the attractions, but I just never thought that their ticket was worth what you get.
