Can i go to both Universal studios theme park and Islands of Adventure on one ticket?

I’m going on a spring trip with the music department and we only purchased 1 ticket for Universal Studios. I’m just wondering if we have to stay in only one park (Islands of adventure of universal studios) or can we go to both parks?! I’m confused, are they seperate parks?!?!? please deliver me from my confusion lol

if you got a one day one park ticket then you have to choose either universal studios OR islands of adventure.

if you got a one day 2 park ticket then you can go back and forth between the 2 parks throughout the day.

if you got a two day one park ticket then you can go to one of the parks one day and the other park the other day.

if you got a two day 2 park ticket then you can go back and forth between both parks for both days.

AND SO ON AND SO FORTH…….
