I use an M-Audio … I use an M-Audio Firewire Solo (About $200 if I remember) with Logic Pro Studio. The FW Solo is really good but a little difficult to set up, I had to call M-Audio. However Logic Pro is phenomenal with endless editing capabilities. I also use an M-Audio Axiom 25 for keys. All this will set you back about $900. But you could probably get by without the Axiom 25 and use Logic Express, which all comes out to be about 400. I’d recommend LP over FL for the intermediate to advanced producer.
I record directly … I record directly to fostex 16tracker, I use a SM58 beta A, and I mix master and edit in a FL studio 8 demo, this cost me around400 or 500 bucks, if anyone is looking for a pretty cheap and easy set up you can try that.
well thanks very … well thanks very much, for now i’ll just be doing drums on software but sooner or later i’ll have to get a drum mic kit, thank you very much.
i have the UX2 and … i have the UX2 and it works really well for guitar, bass, and vocals.
you will still need a decent drum mic kit though.
i would definately recommend any Shure brand system, as well as a decent mixing board for your drums.
amazing studio you … amazing studio you have there mate, and great tutorial!
question for you or anybody:
i’m thinking of stting my own home studio and as i don’t have much money i’m looking for the better most versatile items.

And mattresses. … And mattresses. Many vocal booths have a matress acting a door-way to help absorb rogue sounds that could interfere with the recording.
great vid…..you … great vid…..you never see anyone talk about multitrack digital recorders because everyone thinks that computer is the way to go. I run 2 tascam MK2 24 track recorders linked via midi and my music always sound better then bigger studios in town

Exactly my opinion. Why making a video about home recording when even the video sound itself seems to be quite unprofessional. Not only leaving the right channel muted but also the room ambience making it hard to listen to the speaker (for instance at 1:36).
