is there a way to install microsoft visual studios 2008 on a mac? im planning on getting a mac and i was wondering on how to install visual studios or any windows softwares on a mac?

Why use visual studio? If it is for visual basic then ok, but for any other languages use Xcode – it works much, much better and it comes free with every mac. Xcode is Apples application development suite. It supports many language but you can add more with plugins.

You can run Windows in a dual boot setting that will allow you to turn on the computer to run Windows or OSX, or you could run something like Parallels.
